The Donut Project was started as a collaborative inspiration site with some creative friends after we grew tired of filling each other’s inboxes with email after email of interesting things.
The site name and visual design both originate from our first project in design school (pictured below). The project, inking a black square & circle on whiteboard with exact precision, was notorious for challenging the hand-skills, patience, and sanity of each person forced to complete it. The donut project became a sort of ‘badge of honor’ for us, and nothing seemed more fitting to represent our brand.
My responsibilites include site & logo design, programming and general upkeep of the site, and of course writing content. It has been an exciting crash-course in building and maintaining an online brand, all while enabling myself to stay aware and active in the design community.
